Anti-bacterial and germicide cleansing soap for cosmetical care of sensitive skin
Triclocarban is an antibacterial agent that is particularly effective against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus. It is a bacteriostatic compound that has been found in antibacterial soaps and other personal care products.
The antimicrobial mechanism underlying the bacteriostatic and bactericidal effects of triclocarban is believed to be an unspecific adsorption to cell membranes and interruption of their function. As a result, the growth of gram-positive as well as gram-negative bacteria is inhibited.
